Traveling the Trails began with drawings I made at the kitchen table. Amid the busy rhythm of raising three children, my hands were always moving in the margins of daily life. These pastel drawings were never meant for exhibition; I was simply enjoying the act, feeling my body come alive as the line moved.
For this work, the drawings were scaled up and printed as a construction hoarding for the Melbourne Metro Tunnel Project at the A’Beckett Urban Basketball Court. For me, drawing is tracing without explaining: staying inside an experience and moving with it, rather than standing outside and pointing at it.
